The shaded-pole motor has the lowest starting torque of all the motor types. The starting torque of the shaded pole motor is very small about 50% of full load torque. The amount of torque produced is determined by the strength of the magnetic field of the stator, the strength of the magnetic field of the rotor, and the phase angle difference between rotor and stator flux. The shaded-pole induction motor has low starting and running torque.
